Carla is growing! I am a whisker away from the raglan decreases on the back. Errors are decreasing and live is sweet. AND I have been introduced to the whacky world of Orange County (NY) Choppers. It's a weird and wonderful world, peeps. There's a big, blustery, walrus-whiskered father who looks like a marginally reformed Hell's Angel, and a group of sons, one or two are big and beefy like dad and one is slight and wiry and gets major grief from pops. They build amazing, wild, and kitschy motorcycles from scratch. Megabucks, completely custom bikes. And they are always on deadline. Heh. It's strange and fun and dripping testosterone. The sons smile to themselves and snicker while dad blusters and singes the air with beeped words. Oddly, it lends itself well to knitting. Who knew?
In other news, I succumbed to a load of new knitting books and some lovely Gedifra Serano for a Ponchetta to keep me warm in the Siberian clime of the boy's apartment. It's fuzzy and brown and lovely and supposedly knits up quickly. AND I found the Debbie Bliss Alpaca Silk book. Ack. I may have to join the Lara Along that Wendy and company are starting in September.
Pictures to follow...
P.S. I set the date for the Nat'l. Boards for Massage Therapy. Next Thursday. double ACK...but hey, no pressure...heh.
I think the wirey one isn't related, but just works there. All the relatives are big and beefy. My husband and stepson are addicted, and even met Mikey (the blonde big oaf son) at a convention. It really is excellent to knit to....
