My SP so rocks! She sent me Pursenalities, the book, and some luscious Noro Shinano in a colorway I have never before seen AND the famous Cascade 220, much seen + extolled 'round the blogiverse but never squooshed and mauled by yers trooly. And Lo, wink, nudge, there happens to be a purse within that book to be knit and felted with exactly that combo of Noro and Cascade.
You see, my SP seems to know that I have ducked so far at least three widespread knitterly addictions: socks, spinning, and felting. She seeks to widen my stubborn horizons. Her first gift was handspun Pink Flamingos (stop the drooling, it is MINE, heh). And now the felting trap has been set and sprung. Insert plaintive whine here, '...but what about the unfinished Hourglass Sweater? and what about the gorgeous newling, Gabriel Zane Green, my friends' firstborn son going begging for some handknitted warmth from Uncle Caroline', etc., etc.. you see where I'm going, right? Sweater? Freezing baby boy? Stash?

You have my permission to start something new. Hey, I'm gonna be in Sanibel in a couple of weeks. I hear a lot of trees came down in the last hurricane. True? 'Cause I really don't need to spend the week crying. :)

Coincidentally, I just finished (well, I have to bind off the bottom, sew on the straps and felt it) the Vintage Bubble Bag from that very book, in Cascade 220 and Noro Kureyon. I'm LOVING it, and I can't wait to felt it. A fun, fast project! Cascade 220 is nice, nice stuff, it felts beautifully but is equally delightful in its natural state.
I love socks and felting, but I Will Not Spin! I do not need another hobby! And I experimented with dyeing my own yarn and decided I don't need to do that either.
