T minus 8 workdays and counting till liftoff from this mortal orifice office. I leave corporate life possibly forever. And now comes the sudden panic that I've left too much to the very end. I keep reminding myself to breathe and that what doesn't get done just won't be my problem any more.
And there's Christmas shopping and organizing the house, etc. Somehow I'm managing to hold on to a mellow spirit. I shopped on Saturday amidst all the chaos. I sauntered, I chilled, I kept visualizing everything flowing nicely along. And it did but for bookstores and electronics stores not stocking the desired presents. I was able to sneak in under the delivery (I hope) wire for some on-line purchases and must resign myself to being late on others. C'est la crazy vie, eh? And I really went out on a limb and ordered a dishwasher online. Including delivery 3 days before Christmas and 2 days before Noche Buena. When the ravening hordes descend to use every plate, cup, glass and utensil in the house. Stay tuned, peeps, I'll let you know whether this is a dream come true or a supremely naive and optimistic leap of faith. It was suggested to me that I just use paper plates and plastic cups. But hey, I'm a child of Earth Day and just can't bear that much waste. And dude, fine wine in plastic cups? Ew.
Knitting content? Heh. I have a scarf to knit and mail to NYC that clearly isn't going to make it before the Day. But does it count that I'm sending Latvian mittens out as presents? Nope, can't show you pictures till after, though. And one set is going out today unphotographed. The recipient DOES have a blog, hint, hint, and she will just have to cough up the pictures herself...heh.
And the camera cord never did turn up so I convinced a friend to part with an extra. Don't hold your breath but fresh pictures may soon appear in a blog near you. That is all from paradise.
Oh, to be leaving the corporate world! I'm so envious today, I'm a festive Christmas Green.

Waving and not even getting freakin' snowed on. BTW, I didn't take your cord. Did someone say mittens??????
P.S. Um...think of your gift as more of a New Year's pressie. Heh.

Welcome to life outside the corporate sphere! Does the delivery of the dishwasher include fitting? If not, at least there's somewhere to store all those plates and glasses...
