Well, y'all, do fergive the bloggerly absence. I have been reading your blogs but somehow not lately inspired to write this one. I have been back out to Boulder (Utah) again, this time via plane. It was bitchin' cold, often 8 to 10 degrees below zero at night (see Neena & Heather & Margene on this), and equally bitchin' beautiful. All I managed to take was a few sunset pictures. Will post those next time, promise.
And then right after I got back, Ms. S t r i k k e r was visiting from Bergen, Norway. Visiting Orlando, Florida, that is. So I hopped into the car and drove up for a yarn crawl at Chez Casuelle. Catherine? Everything you said about the place was true and then some. Lovely Carla, the proprietor, stayed open for us 2 1/2 extra hours and not only let us paw and maul the yarn loveliness, but encouraged us by bringing even more goodies out from her back storeroom. We left her with a pint of strawberries we'd bought by the roadside on the way to the store. It is VERY rural in the teeny town of Leesburg, FL. We both came away with much yarn loveliness. The details are, ahem, a bit blurry...
You've no doubt read of the terrible tornados that killed so many and destroyed so much in the area of Lake Mack, Paisley, and Lady Lake, Florida. Though her yarn store is in Leesburg, I think Carla lives in Lady Lake. I'm hoping she survived with her house unscathed as well.
If you've any love and light and prayer to spare, please send it toute de suite to the folks up there. It's a wasteland on the close order of the destruction wrought by Hurricane Andrew down here in Miami 15 or so years ago. The eye registers it but the brain just can't comprehend.
More soon. Am heading up to Cape Canaveral tomorrow to go kayaking so look for some pictures in a day or so. Oh. And last night a friend had some free tickets to see a private concert by Chaka Khan. That woman is da bomb. More about that, too, and hopefully some pictures when Ms. Thang (she with the tickets) sends them over. And in case you were wondering, yes, I did very much stand up, sing, dance, scream, and generally act the fool. It was fab.
So good to see you post! I've missed you!

You look like you are in heaven in that yarn shop. At least that is what my heaven looks like.

Wow, you must have gone wild in that shop: 2 1/2 hours only for the two of you. Yes, everybody can see from the picture it's a very happy woman.
You have really been busy lately. Up to Colorado and nearly got deepfrozen - bbrrr.
I'm happy to live in sunny and mild Oslo, here we have Summertemps: 25 F LoL.
And visit from Bergen, Norway. How exotic :))
Plus kayaking - that's pleasant (I only have a canoe).
Florida and Hurricanes. It never ends. Have both family and friends in the area, so I allways keep an eye where the storms hits and how strong and the dammage. Awful.
Great your back again. It's allways a pleasure to read your posts.
=^.^=

It was such a joy to run into you at the
Grove Park Inn. And of course I was loving
that you wanted to touch my sweater! Don't
we all? Love your blog. I'll be adding it
to my list and I'll check in often.
