Back in Boulder, O Patient Ones, with no images to show you but so very glad to be back. There has been much driving all over the southeast (Buckhead, Georgia, Anniston, Alabama, St. Petersburg, Florida) and finally across Alabama, Mississippi, Arkansas, Oklahoma, the Texas Panhandle, northern New Mexico (just ducking the tornado that hit Logan, NM) and on finally to Utah. The drive was long but very good. Had never seen northern Alabama nor Arkansas (what a beautiful state) nor Oklahoma before. All pretty damned lovely. Northern Mississippi just plain scared me and we were careful to drive out of that state before stopping for the night. The gas stations and their, ahem, interesting personnel and hangers on were, um, special. We boogied on down the road before Bubba could get aholt of us, so to speak. Heed me, folks, for I'm a southerner and when I say it was scary, it was scary...On the other hand, you aspiring filmmakers out there? If you want to one-up David Lynch, dude, have I got a few choice film locations for you...
Didn't expect to fall in love with the farm country of Arkansas, but I did. If I were into rural farming as a lifestyle, I'd for sure look into land there, maybe a little near to a university town, but still. I bet it's cheap, too. At least compared to the desert Southwest.
So I got nuttin' knittin' for you just now. Still unpacking the yarns and getting my high desert chops back. Loads of water, even more hand lotion on all skin parts, etc. But when people tell you that the air up on the high desert in spring is like wine? Believe them.
More soon. Mwah.
::Waves back.::
Yikes. If that was scary to a southerner... I can't imagine.

Oh, dear, I'm glad you escaped Bubba-dom. Up here in the backwoods snowbelt, we call 'em woodchucks, but I think it's the same subspecies :)

DH would agree with you about Miss. He was down there doing relief work after Hurricanes Katrina and Rita and sure was happy to be back in good ol' Cali...Glad you got back to the high desert in time to sip some of the fine wine of spring.

Where are you girl. I miss your posts about the beautiful and mysterious canyons of Utah. My Beloved is there right now on business. Wish I could have joined him. Alas, the broken foot has me out of commission. How about a report on your whereabouts. Checking back occasionally and hoping all is well.
