Red rock, that is. Migod, it's been a long time. Whyncha wake me up or somthin...Oh. Right, you did try. Can blame it on huge life changes, relocation to paradise (west), yadda yadda. What-ev-ah.
I'm back and will have news of the weird and of the yarn any day now. Was recently in Jackson Hole, Wyoming for the first time in 20+ years and whoa, has it changed. They now have a lovely little yarn oasis called Knit on Pearl (the Pearl being Pearl Street). You have to know that I did buy something, right? A lovely bit of variegated bamboo yarn by Plmouth Yarn Company called, Royal Bamboo. Here it is, color #16 for a baby sweater.
It's a bit splitty but not too bad and very silky. The colorway looks just like the high desert of southern Utah in bloom. Matter of fact, looking out the window I see these colors. It's for an high desert baby just born so we'll be clothing Miss McCall in the colors that surround her.
And if you happen to be in Jackson any time soon, do check out the clothing store (also on Pearl Street) called "Katherine". It's out of my price range at present but O my starving-for-fashion god, the shoes, the dresses. And connected to it is a cosmetics, lingerie, bed/home boutique of the same name. Fed my passion on a shoestring by indulging in some Shu Uemura candy gloss, color Candy Orchid. It's a decent facsimile of Lancome's late (discontinued, damn them) Juicy Tubes' color Dreamsicle. So. Is that sufficiently girly and yarny for ya? heh. Back soon. Been missing ya'll.
