...from shock that I've actually posted here. Well. Yeah. It's been an interesting spring, summer and now fall. More about that later.
All is well, just didn't have the motivation to post. Been keeping up with all of you via your blogs and have noticed that a lot of us have fallen silent or have been posting much less frequently. Hopefully I won't be the only one to venture back. Ravelry is awesome but yer blogs are still the best.
So. There's been much knitting not least because friends here in Boulder (Utah) are reproducing at an amazing rate. Three babies in three days in September, eh. So here is the ever lovely baby Bella at the ripe old age of 6 days with her mom debuting the receiving blanket-sized Helena from Knitty. It's knit in Knitterly Things' Vesper sock yarn (superwash) in color Algae. Mom likes green, what can I say? I put this in time out for two months because that dayglo green stripe was searing my eyes.
So this was supposed to be Newborn sized. And it was until I blocked it. Now I'm used to lace blooming, shall we say. But the stockinette portion grew almost 4 inches. Let's not discuss what happened to the lace. Dude. ah, well. At least Bella will be able to wear this possibly straight through to the winter of 2009. The pattern is great, I'd knit it again fer shure. But I'll be swatching and wetblocking that swatch next time youdamnbetcha. Note that in the picture above I have not yet hemmed the bottom nor the sleeves to produce the picot edging.
And that hat that I knit for Bella (Vine Lace Baby Hat, free on Knitting Daily) in the same yarn? It was too small for her. So I'll be ripping and reknitting it for that angel baby. Isn't she beautiful? Those lips, that head of hair...and she's here via a natural childbirth, not a c-section. Amazing, no squishy face for her.
If any of you have some healing thoughts to spare, please send them to Bella asap. For she's having surgery on her heart today. Seems she was born with a hole in her heart where an arterial valve was supposed to be.
And a HUGE shout out to Anmiryam (Gromit on Ravelry) for gifting me with 15 grams of yarn needed to finish the edging and ties. I ran out of ($27 per skein, ack) yarn on the 2nd row of the edge band. Anmiryam? you are the BEST!!
So good to see you back. I love your pics of the beautiful country out there and always look forward to your posts.
Three babies in 3 days, can't be??? There are not that many people in Boulder. Was thru there 3 years ago and loved the serenity of the place. Strong and quiet. . .peaceful. On the way to Moab. Really could live out there. Oh and sending prayers and light out to the little one. Seeing her in perfection.

With all that love and wool surrounding her I trust that Bella is rested and smiling after her surgery.
Good to see you back... you even out did my pauses, ha-ha.
Lots to tell but got a package back last week that seemed to have traveled by pigeon in a paper boat across the pond and back and I had major computer melt down which means replacement hasn't got your address, nothing changes then, as you'll see from my latest post on discovering where I 'lost' my camera.
Trust the wood pile is large and dry and you are well.
