Got wine, got knitting, what I don't have is a camera cord with which to show you all of the above. Teh boyo claims not to have seen it, teh kittehs are lounging around looking innocent (as if), and so you get pretty pictures. Just not pretty KNITTING pictures.
Christ on a pogo stick, it's been a while and much water over and under the dam. I've been back in Boulder since December. The Miami house has not yet rented but damn, it's cute. See?
Know anyone who needs a house to rent in Miami (Coconut Grove)? Let me know, yes?
Boulder's been quiet and wonderful. I've been to Saint George, UT for fire school (am a volunteer firefighter) and got to meet the wonderful Into the Desert Sheila there. Go say hi, she's recovering from foot surgery. Of course we forgot to take pictures. We admired each other's knitting, discovered we have similar taste in yarn and color, and REALLY bonded over the Dream In Color Smooshy yarn. And all this took place in Heindselman's, Too in Saint George. Very nice knitters and shopkeepers there. This is rare and handy (to filch a phrase from Marilyn) since it's my second closest knitting store. Cedar City has one but I've not yet had the pleasure.
I did get to Cedar to see The One Who Lured Me to Utah (aka Neena) and her beloved and friends. We go waaay too long between visits.
And the latest is that I've begun EMT-Basic training. I'm loving it and it gets me over to Ruby's Inn at the edge of Bryce Canyon most weekends. Great teachers, great co-students, and I love what I'm learning. I've refreshed my CPR skills, learned how to take blood pressure and listen to lungs and breathing, found pulses everywhere on the body. So enough with the travelogue, eh?
In knitting news there is the lace scarf of doom. Still. It's at the grit your teeth and get it done stage. I'm sick of it, sick of the colors, and bored out of my f-ing mind with it. Wanna know what I really think of it? This is totally not the pattern's fault (lace scarf by Veronik Avery via Knitty). Lovely pattern. Nor even the yarn. Lovely yarn, too. Just a total attention deficit flame-out. I'm so shure you have no idea what I'm talking about. You are totally monogamous to your yarn, your project, and your beloved. Oah, yes.
There has been hiking so I'll leave you with some images off the Burr Trail and in or overlooking Long Canyon and the Gulch. Enjoy winter in Boulder.
And I qualified for my Utah passport today. I watched Jeremiah Johnson.
Two words: Delle Bolton. And my, o, my, wasn't Robert Redford a tasty morsel back in the day?
If I could, I would run away and rent it in a heartbeat!

Glad to see a posting! I was thinking Boulder got snowed under of somethin'. I love the winter pictures. And you have a bed in St. George when you come to town.
